Matt Wallace is the prolific, award-winning author of over one hundred short stories, as well as a professional screenwriter and novelist. The first collected volume of his short fiction—THE NEXT FIX—was published in 2008. Well-known in the podcasting community, Matt’s freely-distributed audio fiction has to date received over a 100,000 downloads. His first full-length novel released exclusively as a free serialized podcast—THE FAILED CITIES MONOLOGUES—has garnered legions of hardcore fans from all over the world, many of whom have taken to showing up for conventions dressed as its characters. As a screenwriter Matt has worked extensively with up-and-coming and established members of the Australian and Canadian film communities. He's scripted several features that are currently in development, as well as writing for both live-action and animated television and web series. In addition to fiction and screenplays, Matt is a popular purveyor of articles, essays, and video blogging.
Matt was born in Southern California and spent most of his teens in New York City. When most aspiring authors were busy earning their MFA’s, he was traveling the North American continent as a professional wrestler. After a decade of blood and carnage, he turned to writing as a career. In his private life Matt is a martial artist, an avid cook, and combat sports enthusiast. He prefers Spyderco knives, Aristocrat playing cards, and 10 Cane rum, and cultivates a deep personal philosophy that authors should never have to pay for their own drinks.
