BUMP Cover Revealed!

In January, Publishers Weekly announced that Ben Rosenthal of HarperCollins’ Katherine Tegen Books had acquired Matt’s debut middle grade novel, Bump. The story follows a girl who, isolated from her friends and dealing with losing her father, joins a school that trains professional wrestlers, luchadores, only to face off with a local bureaucrat who wants to shut the school down for being unsafe.

Today we are thrilled to reveal to the world for the first time the raucous and riotously jubilant cover for Bump!

This amazing cover was designed by Lisa Vega and illustrated by award-winning cartoonist Kat Fajardo, who perfectly encapsulates the vibrance, life, and color of the world of professional wrestling and lucha libre, as well as the book’s main character, Maya, finding her joy in a professional wrestling ring after donning the traditional máscara of a luchadora.

Bump is currently scheduled to be released in January of 2021!
