EnvyofAngels_Final_hires

Hey, folks. Over on the illustrious Tor.com I’ve given my very first in-depth interview about my new A Sin du Jour Affair novella series, which kicks off with Envy of Angels on October 20th.

It’s an informative, entertaining, and customarily frank piece of business. I give more details about the world, characters, and story than I yet have. I also talk about food, being a hybrid author, and why and how I ended up working with Tor.com on this series. There’s also a plethora of blurbs about the first book from folks like Andrea Phillips, Mur Lafferty, Stephen Blackmoore, and a NSFW blurb from Chuck Wendig that may very well be the best blurb ever given for any book.

My thanks to Lee and Tor.com for giving me the space to blabber.

So, yeah. Click here and read all the skinny.

I’ve heard from senior editor Lee Harris that pre-orders for the much requested print edition of Envy of Angels should be available later this week.

In the meantime, PLEASE DO pre-order the ebook for your preferred device/app. It makes me look good and feel better about life.

Big day today, folks. Over on Tor.com they’ve revealed the phantasmagorically amazing cover for ENVY OF ANGELS, the first of my A Sin du Jour Affair series of novellas coming October 20th!

The ebook version is now available to pre-order, which I strongly encourage you to do!

Check it out!

EnvyofAngels_Final_hiresHow sick is that? Seriously? Designed by Peter Lutjen, it absolutely encapsulates the spirit of the fun and darkly twisted world I’ve created in which food collides with the supernatural.

From the catalog copy about ENVY OF ANGELS:

In New York, eating out can be hell.

Everyone loves a well-catered event, and the supernatural community is no different, but where do demons go to satisfy their culinary cravings?

When a heavenly delicacy is brought to the kitchen, newcomers Lena and Darren put their very souls on the line…

Welcome to Sin du Jour—deviled eggs never tasted so wicked!

So, yeah. There you have it. What say you?

I also have to thank to Chuck Wendig for that killer cover blurb. Chuck actually had more amazing not-safe-for-work stuff to say about the book, as did several other of my favorite authors. They’ve genuinely been loving the series. Like, beyond my expectations (I was adamant with each of them not to bullshit me and only blurb it if it grabbed them. Ludicrous, I know).

Check it out!

“This fucking guy. What the unholy fuck is this story? What heinous fuckery did I just read? The one thing I wished after reading this was that I was actually Matt Fucking Wallace and therefore the one who actually wrote this story, but I’m not, so fuck him. If you can, do me a favor — just scratch his name off this and put my name on. Because it’s funny and fucked up in all the best ways and the fact I didn’t write it chafes my undercarriage.” – Chuck Wendig, author of Blackbirds and Zer0es

“No one makes me think, ‘Dammit, I should have thought of that!’ like Matt Wallace. The Sin du Jour series is something I read with equal amounts of envy and delight.” – Mur Lafferty, Campbell Award-winning author of The Shambling Guide to New York City and Ghost Train to New Orleans

Envy of Angels is one of the most original urban fantasies I’ve read in a damn long time. Angels, demons and the New York restaurant scene. It doesn’t get any weirder than this. Matt Wallace is an author to watch.” – Stephen Blackmoore, author of Dead Things and Broken Souls

Envy of Angels is exactly the breath of fresh air I didn’t know I needed: darkly funny, sweepingly inventive, and just plain fun to read. Every time I thought I got the hang of this book, the next turn took me someplace even more breathtakingly weird and wonderful. Buy it. DO IT NOW. It’s the only way we can force him to write a dozen more of these!” – Andrea Phillips, author of Revision

You can pre-order ENVY OF ANGELS for both the Kindle and the Nook. And if you’re one of my UK readers, hit up Amazon UK for the Kindle hook-up and despite the unnecessary amount of time it took me to find, I’ve even got the UK link for Nook users.

When it’s released in October you’ll also be able to order print and audio editions if that’s your taste.

Here’s the thing: It would mean A WHOLE HELL OF A LOT to me if you’d pre-order this sucker and encourage others to do the same. It’s the best way to ensure I get to keep writing and Tor.com keeps releasing this series, and I’m promising you it’s going to be worth it.

Pre-orders are a big deal.

Please pre-order the book and evangelize same.

LUSTLOCKED, the second A Sin du Jour Affair book, is currently scheduled for release in January of 2016.

Spread the news and the amazingness far and wide, folks. Pretty please?

My thanks to my editor, Lee Harris, to Irene Gallo, Peter, Mordicai, Carl, and the rest of the Tor.com team. They’re absolutely killing it.
