Viewing: novellas

It’s a day of killer Sin du Jour content and announcements; covers revealed, giveaways offered, reviews out. For me, however, it holds a fine edge of sadness. This week I’m finishing rewrites on Taste of Wrath, the last Sin du Jour novella. When I’m done all we’ll have left is copyediting and after that, for all intents and purposes, my work writing the story of Bronko, Lena, Ritter, and the rest of the Sin du Jour staff and their weird, funny, tragic, f’ed up world of wondrous food and terrible monsters will be over.

The penultimate book in the Sin du Jour series, Gluttony Bay, drops on November 7th. The series will finally conclude in April of next year when book seven, Taste of Wrath, wraps up the story I began writing in 2014.

The folks behind the Barnes & Noble SFF Blog have been on my side and the side of Sin du Jour since the release of the first book. It’s utterly fitting they’re the ones to exclusively reveal the cover of the very final book in the series!

Can you dig it????

It all comes down to this, folks. Once again, and for the last time, Irene Gallo and Peter Lutjen have knocked it out of the fucking park with this final cover design. That cover says it all. Wine, cheese, and war. What more can you ask from a series finale?

Taste of Wrath is available to pre-order right now in paperback and ebook form. I make more money if you buy the paperback, since so many people ask. But read in your preferred format, please. I’ll be fine.

To coincide with this final epic cover reveal, Tor.com Publishing is doing an exclusive and excellent giveaway through the Tor.com newsletter. If you subscribe you’ll be able to get the first book in the Sin du Jour series, Envy of Angels, absolutely free. It’s free to subscribe, too. The offer is limited, so I’d get a move on if you want in. This is the perfect opportunity for folks new to the series to check it out. Click here to subscribe.

In other news, Gluttony Bay has received four stars and a killer review from RT Book Reviews. I think it’s my personal favorite book in the series. I hope if you haven’t yet pre-ordered it you will. I’m working with the marketing folks at Tor.com Publishing to set up some exciting events around Gluttony Bay’s launch, so stay tuned to my Twitter for all the news on that.

So, yeah. All in all an exciting day if you’re a Sin du Jour reader, or if you’re me, which I am, so it’s been an exciting day. While I remain a little maudlin about this ride coming to an end, I’m grateful to those of you who’ve taken it with me, and dug the journey.

We’re not there yet. I promise you a few more dips and jumps before we’re through.

Hey, folks! Today is the day. The fourth book in my Sin du Jour novella series–IDLE INGREDIENTS–has been released into the wild! It’s the midway point in the series, and shit is about to get turned up to 11.

If you’re new to the party I invite you to read my last post outlining 15 things you absolutely need to know about Sin du Jour by way of introduction into the series. And then dive in. The water is fine.

I want to thank everyone who pre-ordered IDLE INGREDIENTS and I hope y’all have reserved your copy of the next book in the series, GREEDY PIGS, dropping in May. It really seems like the series is picking up momentum lately, from being recommended by the Washington Post and Locus Magazine to posting consistently better Amazon numbers, and if you’re among my constant readers you are a big part of that. I can’t thank y’all enough. Help keep it going by talking to your uninitiated friends, family, and co-workers about the series, and across all your social media networks.

For the rest of you new people, I hope you’ll order your copy on-line or hit your favorite local bookstore. If they don’t have it, just ask! They’ll be happy to order it for you. And while I always encourage you to read in your preferred format and am grateful to you for it, it’s always worth the reminder that I make the most money from paperback sales. By like, a lot.
